Workers' Rights in Jordan

Article 78 obliges the employer to provide hazard protections, personal protective equipment (clothes, goggles, gloves, shoes) with training, clear posted safety instructions, and medical first-aid means—all at employer's expense, never charged to workers.

Article 84 empowers the Minister to close the establishment or halt machinery that endangers workers until the violation is remedied, after a warning; workers retain full wages during closure. Violators face 100–500 JOD fines, doubled on recurrence, with no reduction below minimum.
