Social Security

Social Security Article 4: all workers under the Labour Law aged 16+ are covered without nationality distinction, at no less than minimum wage, including those working mainly outside Jordan. It also covers non-civil-service workers, Jordanians in international missions, and self-employed/employers when the Cabinet so decides.

Social Security Article 6 makes coverage mandatory for the categories in Article 4(1); the insured may not be charged insurance costs except as expressly provided. Owners already under a mandatory pension system may join voluntarily under Article 7.
